About Caledonian Therapy Academy

My name is Louise. I had always been interested in Science & Technology, I completed a degree a BSc in Instrumentation with Applied Physics and a Masters degree in IT. I then worked as an IT Trainer for a number of years.

So why did I change career?

I suffered from IBS which limited my enjoyment of life, I worked in a stressful job travelled around the UK and didn't really have much time for myself. In addition I had been ill for months with toothache and pains in my arm but the doctor & dentist did not know what the cause was. My friend Monette gave me a Reiki treatment as a gift, coming from a science background I was a complete sceptic. I was surprised how well I felt afterwards I experienced pain relief and an overwhelming sense of wellbeing. This is where my interest in complementary therapy began. About 6 months later (Still in my stressful job) I was thought to have Colitis, I began getting holistic treatments and by the time I went to hospital for a colonoscopy I no longer had any symptoms.

I researched into Reiki before deciding to do Reiki training. I trained to level 1, 2 then as a Master / Teacher. I enjoy sharing Reiki with people as I have seen first hand how life enhancing it can be. After my Reiki Master training I wanted to learn more about complementary therapy. I then trained for qualifications in the following therapies Indian Head Massage, Life Coaching, Hopi ear candling, Thai Foot & Hand Massage, Cranio-sacral therapy, Bio Detox Therapy etc...

The company was originally known as Louise's Therapy (Sole Trader). I offered treatments and selected Holistic training. We are now called The Caledonian Therapy Academy Ltd to represent the full range of beauty & holistic training we offer and the other highly skilled trainers on board.
