Hairdressing Council HABIA are the government
standards setting
body for Hairdressing & Beauty Training.

Format:
3 Weekends per month over 1 Year
Or 5 days per week over 22 Weeks (Weekdays)
4 Days at academy, 1 day placement.
Other formats may be available for students who already have a
work placement in a salon.
Mandatory Units to be completed.
- Ensure
your own actions reduce risks to Health & Safety
- Give
clients a positive impression of yourself and your
organisation
- Advice
and consult with clients
- Cut
hair
- Shampoo
and condition hair and scalp
- Style,
dress and finish hair using basic techniques
- Change
hair colour using different techniques
- Perm
and neutralise hair using basic techniques
Plus one of
the following optional units:
- Fulfil
salon reception
- Promote
additional products or services to clients
- Develop
and maintain your effectiveness at work
- Provide
scalp massage services
After either Habia, VTCT, SVQ or
a WFHBS course you will be able to register as a state
registered hairdresser, obtain insurance and join
professional hairdressing organisations.
Barbering Diploma - Level 2
Starts 30th July 10 -
Glasgow ( 1 day per week over 12 weeks)
Starts 9th Aug 10 - Edinburgh ( 1 day per week over 12 weeks)
This course leads to an Accredited Level 2 in Barbering that provides the
necessary knowledge, skills and experience to enter employment within a
barbers' shop, hairdressing salon or self employment.
How long is the course?
12 Weeks (1 day per week)
What are the areas covered by the course?
You will cover the following:
• Health and safety
• Give clients a positive impression
• Advise and consult with clients
• Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
• Cut facial hair to shape
• Cut hair using barbering techniques
• Dry hair into shape
Fees: All Modules £1200 inc vat (Beginners)
Fees: £550 (Existing Hairdresser)
Introductory Hair Courses:
1: Long hair styling and dressing techniques.
Long hair styling and dressing techniques are a useful addition to any
Stylist's or Therapists portfolio of skills.
With more and more customers visiting Salons to have their hair styled for
that special occasion, you don't want to miss out on that extra business. A
selection of long hair looks will be demonstrated in the morning and in the
afternoon you will have the opportunity to work hands on with tutor support.
A model will be required for the practical session.
Fee: £70 inc vat

Pre-bonded Fusion hair
extensions (1 day training ) £345 + kit
